I’m mainly an historian of early modern England - although I occasionally range outside that chronological and geographical boundary. I’ve published extensively on a variety of topics. I’m also a passionate advocate of public engagement. So this is an exciting opportunity to share and discuss my love of history with you.
Subscription to Historical essays is free and subscribers receive posts direct to their inbox. Posts are written either by myself or guest contributors. Length varies, with an average reading time of between 10-15 minutes per post. Frequency also varies but is usually about once a fortnight - sometimes a little less frequently, occasionally a little more. Posts are mostly sent during a weekend.
